What are Procore Zones?

Answer

With Procore Application Zones and File Storage Locations, customers have choices for where their data is primarily stored.

Application Zones

Procore Application Zones are the cloud infrastructure platform that provides application storage and processing for application data (such as database records, tool configurations, user permissions, and workflow entries like RFIs) and delivers the overall user experience.

Procore currently offers Application Zones in these regions:

  • United States (US)

  • United Kingdom (UK)

  • European Union (EU - Hosted in Germany)

File Storage Locations

Provides storage for file data, including documents, photos, drawings, specifications, models, and attachments. A project's File Storage Location defaults to the nearest region to optimize upload and download speeds. Procore offers File Storage Locations across multiple global regions. See Where and how does Procore store customer information? for a list of available regions.

What data will be stored in the region I select?

Project Data and backup data are stored in your designated File Storage Location. This includes documents, photos, drawings, specifications, models, budgets, invoices, timesheets, forms, reports, schedules, daily logs, and file attachments.

Where will Project Data be stored or processed when I select a region?

Project Data and any related backup data will be stored in the region you select. However, Project Data may be transferred outside of the selected region for the following purposes:

  • PDF & ZIP Downloads. When bundling multiple files into downloadable ZIP archives or exporting multiple records into a PDF, Project Data may be temporarily transferred to the US for processing.

  • Global Infrastructure: System monitoring, platform logging, automated notifications, and authentication operate on global infrastructure. User account details and project data are processed in global regions as detailed in List of Procore Subprocessors.

  • Customer Support: Authorized global Procore personnel may access Project Data to provide customer support, troubleshoot issues, support the Procore platform, provide services, and maintain platform security, and as otherwise defined in your agreement with Procore.

Procore has legal mechanisms in place for the transfer of personal data. For details, please see the Procore Customer Data Processing Addendum.

Who can access my Project Data?

Your users' access to Project Data is governed by permissions you assign, not geographic location. Contact your Procore Administrator or a Project Admin for custom access controls or security profiles.

Does Procore control how Marketplace apps handle my data?

No. Procore does not control the data storage and processing practices of its Marketplace applications or other third-party applications. Check with your Procore Marketplace partners or providers to understand their data processing practices.

Are there any limitations to using a non-US Application Zone?

Yes. Key limitations apply outside the US Application Zones:

  • Existing Accounts or Projects: Moving an existing account or project to a different Application Zone requires creating a new Procore company instance. Contact your Procore point of contact to learn more.

  • Procore Sandboxes: The Monthly Sandbox is unavailable outside the US Application Zone. For a complete list of sandboxes, see Procore Sandboxes.

  • Connection Manager: Procore Connection Manager is unavailable outside the US Application Zone.
