Add or Manage Comments on a Coordination Issue
Background
Effective communication is crucial for resolving conflicts and ensuring project alignment. Using the Procore web application or the integrated Procore BIM Plugins, users can add and manage comments and snapshots within a Procore coordination issue. This includes attaching relevant images to provide a clear visual context for model snapshots.
Things to Consider
Required User Permissions:
To add, edit, or delete your own comments, 'Read Only' level permissions or higher on the project's Coordination Issues tool.
Additional Information:
Notify Users: Use the @ symbol to mention Procore users and send them an email notification about your comment. See Mention Users in a Coordination Issue Comment.
Navigate Snapshots: If a snapshot was added from the Procore plugin, clicking it will navigate you within the model.
Paste Images: You can paste images directly from your clipboard (e.g., from a screen capture tool) into the comment box.
File Attachments: Supported image attachments include PNG, JPEG, GIF, and BMP files.
Navisworks Limitation: Please note that comments are not carried over in the NWD file for Navisworks Freedom® users.
Prerequisites
Optional: Install the Procore BIM Plugins. See Download Procore BIM Plugins.
Steps
Step 1: Access the Issue's Activity Feed
Choose the application you are working in and follow the steps on your computer:
Procore
To manage comments using the Procore web application.
Navigate to the project's Coordination Issues tool on
Find the issue in the table and scroll right to the Activity column.
Click the Comment
icon to open the Issue panel.
Navisworks®
To manage comments using Autodesk® Navisworks® with the Procore BIM Plugin installed.
Start Autodesk® Navisworks® and open the model. See Getting Started Guide: Procore Plugin for Coordination Issues.
In the Procore tab, click Issues List.
Click an issue to manage its comments.
Choose one (1) option:
Click Activity to open the Activity window.
On the issue, click Info, then select the Activity tab.
Autodesk® Revit®
To manage comments using Autodesk® Revit® with the Procore BIM Plugin installed.
Start Revit® and navigate to a 3D view in the Revit® project browser.
Click the Procore tab.
Click Coordination Issues.
In the Coordination Issues side panel, select the project in Procore.
On the coordination issue, click the information
icon.
Click the Activity tab.
Step 2: Add, Edit, or Delete a Comment
Manage comments in the Activity feed. Use the '@' symbol in a comment to mention a Procore user, which sends them an email notification. See Mention Users in a Coordination Issue Comment.
Add a Comment
Type your comment in the text box.
Optional: Click Attach Image to upload an image.
Click Submit.
Edit a Comment
Click the vertical ellipsis
and choose Edit.
Optional: Click the X to remove an attachment.
Click Update.
Delete a Comment
Click the vertical ellipsis
and choose Delete.
Click Delete.
