Add Estimate Overview Details in a Bid Board Project
Background
Maintaining accurate overview details helps you manage and track project estimates efficiently. By documenting key information such as the project description, due date, and estimator details, you ensure that the estimate contains all necessary context for the project team.
Things to Consider
Required User Permissions:
'Standard' or 'Admin' level permissions on the company's Bid Board or Portfolio Planning tool.
OR'Standard' or 'Admin' level permissions on the project’s Estimating tool.
Additional Information:
When using the Estimating tool, this action is only available for projects that originated in the Bid Board tool. See Add a Bid Board Project to the Portfolio Tool.
Steps
Navigate to the Bid Board or Portfolio Planning tool.
OR
Navigate to the project's Estimating tool.Click the Overview tab.
In the Estimate Overview section, enter information for the following:
Estimate Name: Enter a name for the project.
Project Number: Enter a number for the project.
Project Description: Enter a brief project description.
Estimator: Click the drop-down menu to select the person who should be assigned as the estimator for the project.
Note: They will receive an email notification and be able to view and access the project in the Bid Board tool.Office: Choose the office in charge of the project.
Measurement System: Click the drop-down menu to select a measurement system for the project.
Square Footage: Enter the square footage of the project.
Due Date: Click the field to select a due date on the calendar.
Due Time: Click the field to select a time. Click AM or PM as relevant.
Note: If you do not select a time, the due date time is set to 12PM by default.Estimate Pricing: Select Locked to lock the proposal's Estimate and Takeoff data while still allowing document uploads. For more information, see What is the 'Lock' feature for a project in the Bid Board?
