Add or Manage Schedule of Values for a Budget in Portfolio Financials

The Budget tab within the Cost Tracker allows you to build project budgets with variances and anticipated costs. There are two different budgeting methods that you can use in Portfolio Financials: a broken down budget, which will allow you to assign budgets to individual cost items through the Cost Tracker, and an overall (lump sum) budget, where you have one amount for the entire project.

• Required User Permissions:

  • 'Full Access' to the project or higher.

• Additional Information:

  • Schedule of Values and cost items that have been budgeted cannot be deleted.

To add Schedule of Values:

Step 1: Add Schedule of Values to the Cost Tracker

1. Navigate to the Cost Tracker on the Project Page.

2. Click the drop-down arrow to the left of any cost item.
   

3. Click Add SOV to [Cost Item Name].

4. Enter the schedule of values that you want to budget for.

5. Click Add SOV.

Step 2: Add the Budget and Enter Values

1. On the Cost Tracker, click Add Budget.

2. Select I want to break down my budget and click Create Budget.

3. Enter a Name and Description (optional) for the budget.

4. Click Continue.

5. On the Budget tab, click the drop-down arrow next to the cost item that contains the schedule items you want to budget for. Enter your schedule of value budgets as you would a normal cost item.

6. Click Publish.

To rename Schedule of Values:

1. Click the vertical ellipsis icon next to any SOV item.

2. Select Rename.

3. Enter the revised name for the SOV item.

4. Press ENTER or RETURN on your keyboard to save the changes.

To delete Schedule of Values:

Note: Schedule of Values and cost items that have already been budgeted cannot be deleted.

1. Click the vertical ellipsis icon next to any SOV item.

2. Select Delete.

3. Click Delete to confirm that you want to delete the SOV.
