Reset a Project Schedule

Background

There are instances where a project’s scheduling path needs to be completely redefined, such as transitioning from an imported file (Option 1) to a schedule built entirely within Procore (Option 2). The "Start Over" function allows you to wipe the current data and restart the configuration process. This action is irreversible and should only be used when a total reset of the project timeline is required.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions: 'Admin' level permissions on the project's Scheduling tool.

  • Important!: This action deletes all existing tasks, look-ahead details, and dependencies. Once confirmed, this data cannot be recovered.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the project's Scheduling tool.

  2. Click the Configure Settings icon.

  3. In Project Settings, locate the Start Over button under General.

    1. Note: If you do not see this button, verify that you have 'Admin' level permissions.

  4. Click Start Over.

  5. In the confirmation window, review the warning regarding data loss.

  6. Click OK to reset the tool.

    1. Note: You will be redirected to the initial 'Add a Schedule to Procore' screen.
