Procore BIM Plugin Consolidation & Update History

Procore has streamlined your workflow by consolidating its legacy VDC and Documents plugins into a single, Unified Procore BIM Plugin.

Why the change?

Managing separate plugins for Documents, Coordination Issues, Locations, and Models was confusing and required users to perform multiple installations. Procore's new all-in-one approach offers:

  • Low-Maintenance Workflow: A single installer handles every tool you need. Spend less time managing software updates and more time focused on design and coordination.

  • A Connected Experience: Our new web-sync technology means that as soon as a Procore tool is updated on the Procore web platform, its new features are available in Revit® and Navisworks®. You’ll have the latest web tools without the need to perform a manual download.

  • Work at Scale, Faster: Optimized code reduces model loading times, allowing you to navigate large, complex projects with greater stability and speed.

  • Centralized Command: All of your publishing, coordination, and export tools are now organized in a single toolbar, eliminating clutter and making it easier to find the exact tool you need.

Do I need to uninstall the legacy plugins?

No. The transition to the Procore BIM Plugin is designed to be seamless. The new BIM Plugin installer automatically finds and replaces legacy versions on your Windows® computer. No manual actions are necessary.

How do I keep the plugin updated?

To keep your data syncing correctly, Procore distributes mandatory updates. Since most user interface updates now happen automatically in the Procore web application, you are only prompted to run the the installer updates for plugin improvements.
