What project information is synced between Resource Planning and the Portfolio tool?

Background

Projects can be created in either the Portfolio tool or Resource Planning, but your company must choose one as your system of record. Your system of record can then sync project data so that some information is available the Resource Planning tool, as well as other tools in Procore.

If Resource Planning is your system of record, information updated in the Project List syncs immediately to the Portfolio tool. If the Portfolio tool is your system of record, data updated in the Portfolio tool currently syncs immediately to the Project List in Resource Planning.

Answer

  • Projects must have a Project ID to create the project in the other tool.

  • Data syncs are one-directional:

    • If you choose the Portfolio tool as your system of record (recommended), the below information will be synced to your projects in the Resource Planning tool.

      • Note: Projects created in the Portfolio tool are added to all groups in Resource Planning.

    • If you choose Resource Planning as your system of record, the following information will be synced to the Portfolio tool.

      • Note: If you have one project template, the template is applied when the project is synced to Procore. If you have more than one project template, no template is applied.

Fields not listed below are not synced between the Portfolio tool and Resource Planning.
