What happens when 'Restrict Non-draft edits to Contracts and Change Orders' and 'Enable Always Editable Schedule of Values' are both enabled?

The Restrict non-draft edits to Contracts and Change Orders and Always Editable Schedule of Values settings control whether users can edit a contract or change order's Schedule of Values (SOV) after it leaves 'Draft' status.

• Restrict editing for the Prime Contracts, Purchase Orders and Subcontracts: A Company-level setting that prevents edits to the Schedule of Values and Contract Company details across all projects.

• Enable Always Editable Schedule of Values (AESOV): A Project-level setting managed within the tool settings for Commitments, Prime Contracts, Client Contracts, or Funding.

• Company-Level Control Toggles: Company Admins can turn the AESOV setting ON or OFF globally using two independent company-level toggles (one for Prime Contracts and one for Commitments) under Company Admin > Tool Settings: Contracts & Change Orders > Contracts Settings.

  • Disabling a toggle at the Company level automatically turns AESOV OFF across all projects and hides the AESOV option from Project-level settings for that contract type.

  • Enabling a toggle at the Company level restores the visibility of the AESOV setting at the Project level, allowing it to be configured on a per-project basis.

The Company-level toggle controls feature access across your account. Turning on the Company-level Always Editable Schedule of Values (AESOV) setting allows individual projects to enable it. Once active, users can edit the Schedule of Values on non-draft contracts and change orders.
