Compare Specifications

Specifications tool enables project teams to review and analyze specification revisions or different specification sections directly within the PDF viewer. Users can compare documents using either an Overlay mode to highlight visual differences or a Side by Side split view to evaluate changes concurrently.

• Required User Permissions

To compare specification revisions in the viewer or different specification sections side by side or in overlay mode:

1. Open the specification section in Procore's PDF viewer.

2. Click Compare in the bottom toolbar (or open the Revision dropdown menu at the top and select Compare).

3. In the Compare Document Versions window, select a Comparison Mode:

   • Overlay: Superimposes both documents with color-coded highlights to identify changes.

   • Side by Side: Displays both documents next to each other in a split view.

4. Under Compare Against, select the specification section or revision you want to compare.

5. Click Compare.

6. Use the top toolbar options (Show/Hide Differences or Show/Hide Semantics) to toggle change highlights.

7. Click Exit Comparison to return to standard viewer mode.
