View Documents in the Document Management Tool (Android)

Regional Availability

The Document Management tool is available to accounts in the following countries: United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. It is not yet available for Procore accounts in the United States. For more information, please reach out to your Procore point of contact.

    • The following file types can currently be opened in the viewer:

      • Documents: .pdf, .doc, .docx, .ppt, .pptx

      • Spreadsheets: .xls, .xlsx

      • Images: .jpg, .jpeg, .png

      • Videos: .mp4

      • Audio: .mp3, .mp4, .wav, .m4a

  • Markup Layer Support: The mobile viewer supports both Public and Private markup groups. Markup layers created on the Web version are preserved and synced to your mobile device.

  • Functional Limitations: Renaming, reordering, or deleting markup groups must be performed on the Web application; these management actions are not currently supported on mobile.

Steps

 Tip

You can quickly access drawings and specifications within the Document Management tool by tapping the Drawings or Specifications tool in the Procore app.
Note: The app will not redirect to the Document Management tool if the Drawings or Specifications tools are active on the project.

  1. Open the Procore app on an Android mobile device.

  2. Tap the project's Document Management tool.

  3. Populate a list of documents with one of these methods:

    • Tap on a saved view listed underneath a bolded collection name.

    • Enter a search term into the Search Icon Markup Search bar.

  4. As needed, refine your search by modifying the filter Icon Filter2 or sort options.

  5. Tap the document you want to view.

  6. Gestures for navigating between and within documents, once a document loads in the viewer:

    • View other documents: Swipe left or right to view up to 200 documents that are listed before or 200 documents that are listed after that document in the saved view. Note: Tapping the arrows achieves the same result. Tap the screen to hide the arrows.

    • View other pages: Scroll up or down in a multi-page document to view the additional pages.

  7. Available features depending on which file type you are viewing:

    • Markups:

      • View and Filter Markup Layers: Tap the Markups markups-mobile-icon icon to open the layers panel. 

        • Tap the Private tab to view your personal annotations, or tap the Public tab to view shared project layers.

        • Tap the Eye eye-icon icon next to any markup group name to toggle that specific layer's visibility on or off on the document canvas.

      • Add a Mobile Markup: To add an annotation to an active layer, select your desired markup group, tap the Plus + icon, and select a drawing tool (such as Ink, Shape, Text, or Cloud).

      • Configure Tool Attributes: When using tools like Ink or Shape, tap the tool options to adjust its color, line thickness, and opacity.

    • Markup List: Tap the ellipsis Icon Ellipsis Options Menu3 icon and select Markup to view a list of markups on the document. This list displays individual annotations organized by page number, showing the creator's name and the date last modified. Tap on any markup item in the list to jump directly to it on the drawing.
      Note: The number of visible markups compared to total markups and the number of applied filters are shown in this Markup list panel.

    • Revisions/Versions: Tap the revisions Revisions Icon icon to view previous versions of the document.

    • Search: Tap the search icon to search text within the document.

    • Info: Tap the ellipsis Icon Ellipsis Options Menu3 icon and select info to view all available information for the document.

    • Thumbnail View: Tap the ellipsis Icon Ellipsis Options Menu3 icon and select Thumbnail View if you want to change to a thumbnail view.

    • Share: Tap the share icon to save, share, or print the document. Note: The options available depend on the apps and settings on your Android device.

  8. When you are done viewing the document, tap the x icon to close the viewer.
