Create Assets in the Project Assets Tool

Company Administrators can enable the Assets beta in Procore Explore.

Background

You can add assets to from the company register to your project. If the asset is not already in your company's register, you can create it in a project. The asset is then tracked in both the project and company level Assets tool.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the company or project level Assets tool.

  2. Click Create and select Create New.

  3. Enter the general information.

    Show/Hide Fields

    Note: Fields and their options vary based on the asset's type and status group.

    • Type: The type of asset, as configured in your Assets settings in the Company Admin tool.

    • Parent Asset: Parent Asset is available only when the selected asset type has an asset-allowed ancestor type.

    • Trade: The trade associated with the asset.

    • Name: A descriptive name for the asset.

    • ID: A unique alphanumeric code for the asset. This code must be unique across the entire company.

    • Status: The asset’s current operational status, as configured in your Assets settings in the Company Admin tool.

    • Photo: A photo representative of the asset.

    • Description: Additional details or notes to describe the asset and provide further context.

    • Location: The physical location of the asset within the project’s location hierarchy.

    • Latitude: Enter the latitude coordinate for the asset to support map-based positioning.

    • Longitude: Enter the longitude coordinate for the asset to support map-based positioning.

  4. Create the Assets.

    • Click Create Single to create a single asset.

    • Click Create Multiple to create records for multiple assets.

      1. Enter the quantity of assets.

      2. Update an ID if necessary.

      3. Enter the number at which to start appending the Asset ID.
