What are the differences between Procore AI and Datagrid?

Procore AI is built into Procore and works with your project data from the side panel.

Datagrid is the broader standalone product, powered by the same AI technology, that extends AI across data from many sources — with or without Procore. Most Procore customers work entirely in Procore AI; Datagrid standalone is for organizations that want to centralize and analyze data across many sources at scale. Even if you never buy Datagrid standalone, every Digital Coworker package includes a connected Datagrid environment, where administrators monitor AI credit usage and teams can organize AI work.

Procore AI

Procore AI is built directly into the Procore AIside panel, where you can retrieve project data and deploy the agents you've selected or built. Because it lives inside Procore, it's suited to in-the-moment work:

• Contextual awareness. Procore AI can often use the page you're viewing in Procore to inform its responses — a benefit of working inside the platform rather than a separate environment.

• Drafting in your workspace. The AI side panel stages drafts, such as an RFI it's creating for you, right where you're working, so you can move from asking to reviewing the result without leaving your project.

• Integrated retrieval. Search and analyze your Procore data in the flow of the work you're already doing.

Datagrid

Whether Datagrid comes with your Digital Coworker package or you use it as a standalone product, it gives you a dedicated workspace for AI results and administration. In Datagrid, administrators monitor credit usage through Control Tower, and teams can collaborate on and organize AI work on 'pages':

• Pin AI insights. Pin specific AI responses to a page to centralize research on complex issues, and keep long-running research organized across sessions or projects.

• Live data blocks. Embed queries — such as a list of open submittals for a project — that refresh automatically as things change in Procore.

• Collaborate with @mentions. Refine work together with annotations and @mentions for peer review and cross-functional feedback.

Datagrid as a standalone product

If you use Datagrid on its own — without a Digital Coworker package — you can connect data from multiple sources and projects in one teamspace and run analysis across them. This is what makes cross-project analysis possible, such as comparing safety metrics across several regions at once. It's designed for organizations that want AI across their broader tech stack, not only their Procore data.

Advanced teams can also connect Procore AI to external tools through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), a self-service capability aimed at technically sophisticated organizations. For most customers, though, centralizing and analyzing data across many sources at scale is what Datagrid standalone is built for.
