Insufficient Permissions Error When Sending Emails
Problem Description
Users who have added the Procore for Outlook add-in may encounter an issue where they are unable to send emails from the integration. Even when a user has Admin-level permissions in Procore, an "insufficient permissions" notification displays.
Root Cause
This error occurs because the integration requires a one-time formal consent to interact with the Microsoft 365 (formerly Azure AD/Entra ID) environment. This permission requirement is distinct from standard Procore project and tool permissions.
Solution
Grant Consent:
The user must provide one-time consent for the application to access the required scopes.
If the user does not have the required admin access in Microsoft Entra (formerly Azure AD), they must reach out to their internal IT Administrator to grant this permission.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Visit the detailed support article: Procore for Outlook Setup.
Refer specifically to the section "2. Grant consent to the integration."
Ensure the "Admin Consent" is applied if your organization restricts third-party app authorizations.
