In Procore, the term granular permissions refers to task-based privileges that can be granted to users with 'Read Only' or 'Standard' level permissions on certain tools through the users' assigned .

Add Comments to Tasks

Allows 'Standard' and ‘Read Only' users to add comments to any task.

Assign Tasks to Standard Users

Grants 'Standard' and ‘Read Only' users the privilege to assign tasks to user(s) with 'Standard' level permissions.

Note: As a prerequisite, Read Only users must have the 'Create Tasks' granular permission enabled to assign tasks.

Change Task Status

Grants ‘Read Only' and 'Standard' users the privilege to:

  • Change the status of any task.

  • Add comments to any task.

Close Assigned Tasks

Allows 'Standard' users who are assigned to a task created by someone to change the status to Closed or Void.

Manage Project-level Task Settings

Grants ‘Read Only' and 'Standard' users the privilege to configure the project level advanced task settings.

Create Tasks

Allows ‘Read Only' users to:

  • Add a task and assign it to user(s) with 'Admin' level permissions.

  • Add a task and assign it to user(s) with 'Standard' level permissions if the 'Assign Tasks to Standard Users' granular permission is also enabled.

  • Change the status of a task they created.

  • Edit a task they created.

  • Add comments to the task they created.

  • Send task notification emails for the task they created.

Delete Tasks

Allows ‘Read Only' and 'Standard' users to delete a task.

Edit Tasks

Grants ‘Read Only' and 'Standard' users the privilege to:

  • Change the status of any task.

  • Edit any task.

  • Add a comment to any task.
    Note: The ‘Edit Tasks’ granular permission allows users to assign tasks to both Standard-level and Admin-level users.

Notify About Task Changes

Allows ‘Read Only' and 'Standard' users to send task notification emails for any task.

View All Tasks

Grants ‘Read Only' and 'Standard' users the privilege to view any task.

View Task Change History

Allows ‘Read Only' and 'Standard' users to view the change history of a task.
