Delete Root Cause Analysis Fields

Background

In the Company level Admin tool, you can delete custom values for Hazard, Contributing Condition, and Contributing Behavior fields. This ensures your team members only see and select the most relevant, up-to-date options when creating an Observation or Incident, helping your organization maintain compliance and consistent data policies.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permission

  • Additional Information:

    • Important! You can only delete custom fields that have been added to the project. Default fields cannot be deleted.

    • If a custom field is currently in use on at least one (1) observation or incident, the delete icon will be unavailable (grayed out) to prevent data corruption.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the Company level Admin tool.

  2. Under 'Company Settings', click Root Cause Analysis.

  3. Click the RED x icon next to the desired custom value.
    Notes:

    • If a custom value is currently in use on at least one (1) observation or incident, a GRAY 'x' appears to indicate that it cannot be deleted.

    • If you clear the checkmark next to a value, the system makes that value 'Inactive'. See Edit Root Cause Analysis Fields.
