Project Assets View

Assets View

This is the main page that is displayed when you navigate to the Project Level Assets tool. Assets can be viewed in two formats within the Asset Register: List View or Map View.

List View

The List View displays all assets in a table format, allowing you to easily view and manage your asset data.

  1. Default Display: When you first open the Assets tool, you will see a list of all assets across all asset types and subtypes presented in an infinite scroll and sorted by the Last Modified column in descending order by default.

  2. Column Customization:

    1. Default Columns: The default columns are Name, ID, Type, Status, and Last Modified.

    2. Configure Field Columns: Any column can be configured to show or hide, except for ID which is fixed. The list of available columns includes all default and custom fields from all fieldsets found in your assets. If a field is not present for a particular asset, the corresponding cell will show as empty.

    3. Configure Related Item Columns: Related item columns such as Inspections, Observations, Incidents, and other supported tools can be added to the Asset Register view. These columns display the count of linked related items for each asset. You can click on the count to view additional details and navigate directly to the related item record.

    4. Reorder and Resize: You can drag and drop columns to reorder them and resize their width.

    5. Column Actions: For every column in the Asset Register (with the exception of the ID column), a menu is available that lets you customize your view. From this menu, you can pin columns, autosize them to fit the contents, hide them, sort the data in ascending or descending order, and reset the view to its default settings.

  3. View Asset Details: Clicking on the hyperlinked name of any asset will open a details page. This page provides a comprehensive view of the asset's information, including all its standard and custom fields, attachments, related items, and the change history for that asset.

  4. Edit Asset Status: Asset status can be updated directly from the List View by clicking the Status cell and choosing a new status from the dropdown.

Map View

Available only at the project level, the Map View provides a visual representation of your assets on a map, allowing you to see their geographical locations. This view is especially useful for assets that are assigned spatial coordinates (latitude and longitude). While the List View is perfect for managing asset data in a table, the Map View helps you understand the physical distribution of your assets on a job site or across multiple locations. You can use it to quickly identify where specific assets are located, helping with logistics, planning, and on-site asset management.

Asset Types View

On the main page that is displayed when you navigate to the Project Level Assets tool, click on the Asset Types tab.

This is a read-first, operational view of your project's configured Asset Types. This allows users to understand data expectations upfront (like default values and mandatory fields) and manage global attachments that cascade to all instances of that type.
