Edit a Resource Request

Background

Resource requests efficiently inform your team that you need resources for a particular project. Create a resource request when you need a resource but aren't sure who to assign, or if you lack the permissions to create assignments yourself. You can edit resource requests at any time.

You can edit requests from the following places in Resource Planning:

Edit a Resource Request from Assignment Boards

  1. Navigate to the Company level Resource Planning tool.

  2. Click Assignments and select Boards.

  3. Locate the resource request you want to edit.

  4. Hover over the request and click the gear Icon Gear Wfp icon

  5. Edit the request details.

  6. Click Save.

Edit a Resource Request from the Assignments Gantt (Beta)

 In Beta

This feature is in beta and available for customers using the Resource Planning tool.

  1. Navigate to the Company level Resource Planning tool.

  2. Click Assignments and select Gantt (Beta).

  3. Edit the request:

    • Request Details

      1. On the list, right click the request or the request bar and click Edit Request.
        Note: You can also hover over the request in the list and click the vertical ellipsis Icon Ellipsis Vertical, then select Edit Request.
        OR
        Right click the request or the request bar and click Edit Request.

      2. Edit the request details.

      3. Click Update to save.

    • Shorten or extend a request on the Gantt chart

      1. Hover over the last day of the request bar on the Gantt chart until you see the arrows.

      2. Click the arrows and move the end date using a drag-and-drop operation.

    • Move a request on the Gantt chart

      1. Click and hold the request bar. Move the request to the new date using a drag-and-drop operation.

         Tip

        Click the undo Icon Gantt Undo icon to undo an action. Click the redo Icon Gantt Redo icon redo a previously undone action.

Edit a Resource Request from Assignment Gantt

  1. Navigate to the Company level Resource Planning tool.

  2. Click Assignments and select Gantt.

  3. Locate the resource request you want to edit and click the colored bar.

  4. Click Edit Request.

  5. Edit the request details.

  6. Click Save.

Edit Request Information from the Request List

Edit Requests Inline

You can edit information directly on the Requests List by making inline edits.

  1. Navigate to the Company level Resource Planning tool.

  2. Click Requests and select Requests List.

  3. Click the field.
    Note: A box identifies fields you can edit inline.

  4. Add or edit the information.

  5. Click out of the field to save.

Edit Requests from Details

  1. Navigate to the Company level Resource Planning tool.

  2. Click Requests and select Requests List (Beta).

  3. Locate the resource request you want to edit and click the edit Icon Edit2 icon.

  4. Update the request.

    • Enter the 'Specification' information.

      Show/Hide Fields

      • Project. The project the resource is needed for.

      • Category. The assignment's category.

      • Subcategory. The assignment's subcategory.

    • Enter the Job Title Needed.

    • Enter the 'Schedule' information.

      Show/Hide Fields

      • Start Date. The date the work assignment starts.

      • End Date. The date the work assignment ends.

      • Time or Allocation.

        • Moving the 'Set Assignment by Start Week and Duration' toggle to the ON Icon Toggle On position allows you to enter the Start Time and End Time for the assignment.

          • Overtime. If an assignment allows for overtime, You can the 'Overtime' toggle to the ON Icon Toggle On position.

            • Overtime Rates. The overtime rate for each day of the week.
              For example, overtime on a weekday may be 1.5 for time and a half, and 2 for double time on the weekend.

            • Pay Split. How many hours a person must work to initiate overtime.

              • Overtime. After the standard wage, how many hours in a shift that are considered overtime.

              • Standard. How many hours in a shift are considered the standard wage.

              • Unpaid. How many hours in a shift are unpaid.

                Example
                • 12 Hour Shift, Paid Lunch - The pay split would be 8 hours standard, and 4 hours of overtime.

                • 12 Hour Shift, Unpaid Lunch - The pay split would be 8 hours standard, 3 hours overtime, and 1 hour unpaid.

        • Moving the 'Set Assignment by Allocation' toggle to the ON Icon Toggle On position allows you to enter the Percent of the person's time that is Allocated for the request.

      • Work Days. A checkmark indicates a work day for the request.

      • Status. The assignment's status.

    • Enter Additional Information for any request custom fields. See Configure Custom Fields for Resource Planning.

    • Enter the Scope of Work.
      Note: Information entered here is automatically added to the assignment alert for the assignee who is fulfilling the request.

    • Enter Assignment Instructions.
      Note: Information entered here is automatically added to the assignment alert for the assignee who is fulfilling the request.

    • Enter any Comments to add any comments.
      Note: Information entered here is not included in any assignment alerts.

  5. Click Save.
