Compare Documents in the Document Management Tool (Android)

Things to Consider

Steps

  1. Open the Procore app on an iOS mobile device.

  2. Tap the project's Document Management tool.

  3. Navigate to All Published Documents and click to open the document you want to use as the base for comparison.

  4. Follow the steps below depending on what type of comparison you want to do:

    1. Overlay: Compare two versions of the same document, superimposed on top of each other, so new markups or content stand out in a different color. Great for drawings.

    2. Tabbed: Compare any versions of a document or any other files within the same PDM collection.

Overlay

Overlay mode is best for comparing visual layouts, such as two drawings with markups. The selected files must be different versions of the same document. The two versions are superimposed on top of each other with additions and deletions colored to highlight differences between them.

  1. Click the ellipsis icon at the top and click Document compare to open the Compare button in the document viewer.

  2. Click Overlay as your mode. This will display the list of all the available documents.

  3. Select the document and click Compare.

  4. To change which version you're comparing the base document with, click the ellipsis icon at the top and select the version you want.

  5. To select a different base document, close the current one and open a new document. Then, follow these steps from the beginning.

  6. Discover markup and content differences by looking for these colors:

    1. Blue: Elements only in the second file.

    2. Red: Elements only in the base file.

    3. Black: Elements present and in the same location in both files (versions).

Tabbed

Compare any versions of a document or any other files within the same PDM collection.

  1. Click the ellipsis icon at the top and click Document compare to open the Compare button in the document viewer.

  2. Click Tabbed as your mode. This will display the list of all the available documents.

  3. Select the document and click Compare. You can see the base document and the comparison document side-by-side.
