Bulk Update a Bill of Materials

Background

Updating estimate items in bulk allows you to adjust pricing for numerous materials simultaneously without manual entry in the Estimating tool. This ensures your estimate reflects the most current market costs and maintains financial accuracy across your project.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions:

    • 'Standard' or 'Admin' level permissions on the project’s Estimating tool.

  • Additional Information:

    • The system uses the exported file to match existing items and update their 'Item Cost' values.

Steps

Export the Bill of Materials (BoM)

  1. First, export the Bill of Materials (BoM) from Procore. See Export a Bill of Materials.

Update and Re-Import the Bill of Materials (BoM)

  1. Open the exported file on your computer.

  2. Update the Item Cost column with the new values.

  3. Save the file.

  4. Navigate to the Bid Board or Portfolio Planning tool and select the project.
    OR
    Navigate to the project's Estimating tool.

  5. Cick the Estimating tab.

  6. Click Import at the top.

  7. Hover over Bill of Materials (BoM).

  8. Select Update Bill of Materials Pricing from Excel File.
