What is an industry benchmark?

Answer

Industry benchmarks provide a baseline for comparing your performance against others. In the United States, benchmarks are state-specific. Outside the United States, benchmarks are country-specific.

These benchmarks are calculated using aggregated and anonymized Procore data, so no individual company’s data is directly disclosed or identifiable.

Company industry benchmarks are for general contractors, subcontractors, and owners. Your company is compared with others of the same type and a similar size:

  • Less than $10M

  • $10M to $50M

  • $50M to $150M

  • $150M to $500M

  • $500M to $1B

  • $1B to $3B

  • More than $3B

Project industry benchmarks compare your project with other projects of a similar size and type. Type is the “Project Sector” field on the project in Procore. The size ranges are:

  • Less than $25K

  • $25K to $1M

  • $1M to $5M

  • $5M to $20M

  • $20M to $50M

  • $50M to $100M

  • $100M to $250M

  • $250M and above
