Link and Manage Related Items for Assets

Related Items allows you to link an asset to other relevant records across Procore, such as Observations, Incidents, Punch List, Submittals, Inspections, RFIs and Incidents, providing additional context and improving traceability throughout the asset’s lifecycle.

Linking related items helps ensure all relevant information is accessible directly from the asset record, reducing the need to navigate between tools, and creates a verified history for the asset that travels with it through handover.

You can add related items to individual assets, or to all assets of that asset type.

• Company Assets Required User Permissions

• Project Assets Required User Permission

• All link actions are recorded in the asset’s Change History for audit purposes.

• Beta - Action Plans are linked by creating an Assets Action Plan in the Action Plans tool.

• You can unlink related items that were originally linked to the asset type.

1. Navigate the company or project level Assets tool.

2. Click the asset's ID.

3. Click the the Related Items tab.

4. Click Link Items.

5. Select the Procore tool.

   • Assets

   • Incidents

   • Inspections

   • Inspection Items

     1. If linking Inspection Items, click Next next to the Inspection.

   • Observations

   • Punch List

   • RFIs

   • Schedule Activities

   • Submittals

6. Mark the checkboxes for the items you want to link.

7. Click Next.

8. Optional: Add a note.

9. Click Link.

1. Navigate the company or project level Assets tool.

2. Click the asset's ID.

3. Click the the Related Items tab.

4. Click Unlink next to the related item.

5. Click Remove Link to confirm.
