Assets Setup Guide (Beta)

1. Navigate to the Company level Admin tool.

2. Under 'Tool Settings,' select Assets.

3. Click the Types tab.

4. Click Import.

5. Download the standard Excel template.

6. Enter in the required information into the template:

   • Level 1, Level 2..: A descriptive name for the asset type (e.g., Level 1 being the parent asset type such as "HVAC Equipment" and Level 2 being the subtype such as “Air Handling Unit”). The last filled level in the row is the asset type that will be created.

   • ID (Mandatory): A unique alphanumeric code. It's best practice to use a separator for different hierarchy levels (e.g., HVAC.CHLR for a chiller within the HVAC type).

   • Description (Optional): Add more context about the asset type.

   • Allow Assets (Optional): Defines whether assets can be created for the asset type. This supports enabling asset creation at any level within the asset type hierarchy.

7. Save the template.

8. Navigate back to the Import window.

9. Select the file.

   1. Click Attach File and select the prepared assets file.

   2. Drag and drop the prepared assets file from you computer to the upload box.

Once the file uploads, a Job Status pop-up displays the import progress. You can minimize this window.

Newly created Asset Types automatically apply the Procore Default Fieldset and Status Group. You can update these settings later by creating and assigning Custom Fieldsets and Status Groups, as detailed below.
