Procore Model Manager - Beta Access & Feedback

The Model Manager (Beta) tool is exclusively available to registered beta participants. It is not available through Procore Explore. To learn more, see Beta Participant Guide.

    • To register: Participating companies must sign the Procore Beta Agreement. Once signed, your Procore Administrator coordinates with your Procore point of contact to enable Model Manager (Beta) on specific Procore projects.

    • To Provide Feedback During Beta: Contact your dedicated Beta program lead.

    • To report issues: Report breaking changes to Procore Customer Support. For general feedback or non-critical issues, contact your Beta program lead or Procore point of contact.

The Procore BIM 2.0 vision introduces the Model Manager (Beta) tool, replacing the publish-based Models tool silos with repository-driven file federation with either the Document Management or Documents tool.

While VDC leads and administrators perform initial model federation, A/B 2D sheet mapping, and Model Snapshot setup on the Procore web application, field superintendents and sub-trades consume these federated scenes directly on mobile devices to inspect geometry, navigate via 2D Minimaps, drop 3D spatial pins, and track model status.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions:

    • To view models on mobile: 'Read Only' level permissions or higher on the Model Manager (Beta) tool.

    • To drop 3D pins or link Connected BIM items in the viewer: 'Standard' or 'Admin' level permissions on the respective supported tool.

  • Additional Information:

    • Functional Division (Web Setup vs. Mobile Execution): Administrative configuration—such as federating trade models, aligning 2D PDF drawing sheets to 3D floor elevations, and bulk asset extraction—must be completed on the web browser. Mobile devices are optimized for jobsite navigation, inspecting properties, dropping 3D pins, and viewing conditioned views.

    • Camera Projection Constraint: The Orthographic camera mode toggle is available on the web application only. The Procore mobile app operates exclusively in 3D Perspective camera mode.

    • Cloud Streaming & Offline Caching: Mobile devices stream 3D models and point cloud data, eliminating the need to store massive files locally. To maintain jobsite continuity in low-connectivity areas (such as basements or remote structures), the system pre-caches the project model on your device before going offline.

    • Parallel Access: The Models tool and Model Manager (Beta) can coexist during your project's transition window. Active legacy projects remain accessible while new projects are provisioned in Model Manager (Beta).
