Migrating from the Models tool to the Next-Gen Viewer tool updates your workflow to use exports instead of model publishing. Creating a single federated scene enables quick, consistent navigation and simplifies drawing alignment across your entire project. This process preserves project viewpoints and simplifies navigation updates when new model versions are available.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions

  • Additional Information:

    • Appearance profiling and model additions: Export a new NWD file to the Documents or Document Management tool whenever model geometry or appearance profiles update to trigger automated versioning in Model Manager (Beta).

    • Drawing alignment: Complete the Add 2D Sheets to a 3D Model tutorial after initial setup to enable 2D to 3D navigation context for field teams

Prerequisites

  • You'll need: Active access to the Procore BIM plug-in ribbon in Navisworks, the Documents tool, and Model Manager.

  • Preparation: An open NWF file with saved viewpoints configured in Navisworks.
