Create Assignments

Create Resource Assignments from the Assignments Gantt (Beta)

Note: Users given assignments this way are also added to the project in the company's Directory.

This feature is in beta and available for customers using the Resource Planning tool.

 Tip

You can also create this by creating a copy of an existing item on the Assignments Gantt.

  1. Navigate to the Company level Resource Planning tool.

  2. Click Assignments and select Gantt (Beta).

  3. On the list, right click the project, category or subcategory for the assignment and select New Assignment.
    Note: You can also hover over the project, category, or subcategory and click the vertical ellipsis Icon Ellipsis Vertical and select New Request.

  4. Fill out the 'Details' information. Show/Hide Fields

    • Project. The project the assignment is for.

    • Category. The category.

    • Subcategory. The subcategory.

    • Labor. The person you are assigning.

      Equipment. Select equipment from the drop-down menu.

      To add equipment to assignments, your project must have the following configurations:

  5. Enter out the 'Schedule' information. Show/Hide Fields

    • Start Date. The date the work assignment starts.

    • End Date. The date the work assignment ends.

    • Time or Allocation.

      • Moving the 'Set Assignment by Start Week and Duration' toggle to the ON Icon Toggle On position allows you to enter the Start Time and End Time for the assignment.

        • Overtime. If an assignment allows for overtime, You can the 'Overtime' toggle to the ON Icon Toggle On position.

          • Overtime Rates. The overtime rate for each day of the week.
            For example, overtime on a weekday may be 1.5 for time and a half, and 2 for double time on the weekend.

          • Pay Split. How many hours a person must work to initiate overtime.

            • Overtime. After the standard wage, how many hours in a shift that are considered overtime.

            • Standard. How many hours in a shift are considered the standard wage.

            • Unpaid. How many hours in a shift are unpaid.

              Example
              • 12 Hour Shift, Paid Lunch - The pay split would be 8 hours standard, and 4 hours of overtime.

              • 12 Hour Shift, Unpaid Lunch - The pay split would be 8 hours standard, 3 hours overtime, and 1 hour unpaid.

      • Moving the 'Set Assignment by Allocation' toggle to the ON Icon Toggle On position allows you to enter the Percent of the person's time that is Allocated for the request.

    • Work Days. A checkmark indicates a work day for the request.

    • Status. The assignment's status.

  6. Fill out the Additional Information. See Configure Custom Fields for Resource Planning.

  7. Optional: Enter Scope of Work to describe the scope of work.

  8. Optional: Enter Assignment Instructions to provide additional instructions.

  9. Optional: Enter Comments.

  10. Click Create.

 Tip

Click the undo Icon Gantt Undo icon to undo an action. Click the redo Icon Gantt Redo icon redo a previously undone action.
