How do custom fields and column configurations work in the Correspondence list view?
Background
The modernized Correspondence list view uses Procore's updated table framework to improve loading speeds, handle custom fields at scale, and align with standard table controls across Procore. Review the answers below to learn how column limits, performance controls, and action buttons work in the updated list view.
Answer
How many custom fields can I add as table columns?
Multiple Correspondence Types: When displaying multiple correspondence types simultaneously in the list view, you can configure up to 15 custom fields as columns across those types. A counter display alerts you if the 15-field limit is reached.
Single Correspondence Type: When filtering the table to a single correspondence type, you can select custom fields specific to that type.
Why don't table columns update immediately when I check boxes in Configure Columns?
To optimize table loading speed and prevent rendering lag when working with large datasets and custom fields, column changes no longer update dynamically upon selection. You must click the Apply button at the bottom of the Configure Columns panel to render your selections on the table. See Customize the Column Display in the Correspondence Tool.
Where are the inline Edit and Export-to-PDF action buttons located?
Inline actions, such as Edit and Export-to-PDF are housed in a permanently pinned Action column on the far right side of the list view table, replacing the previous hover-only display.
