How do I switch my workflows from using a Diagram template to a Linear template?
Background
A workflow template is created using either the Diagram or Linear workflow format. The workflow format is selected when the template is created and determines the authoring experience for the users. Diagram workflows use a node-and-branch authoring experience, while Linear workflows use a table-based, step-by-step authoring experience.
Answer
Diagram and Linear templates cannot be converted into each other. Moving to Linear means creating a new Linear template and setting it as your default. Existing items continue running on their current workflows without interruption.
Please follow the steps below:
Create a new template in the Linear format. (To learn more, see: Create a Linear workflow template)
Apply the new Linear template to your project(s).
Set the Linear template as the default so new items use it.
Optional: Archive or delete the old Diagram template to organize your template list.
Note: This is not required. Any in-flight items on the Diagram workflow will complete as normal.
