Data Retention
Procore Connect functions as a data transfer service. When an item (such as an RFI or Submittal) is synced, the system creates a copy of that record and its associated attachments within the recipient’s Procore environment.
Localized Data Storage: Synced information is stored in the Procore account of both the sender and the recipient.
Non-Dependent Access: Once a sync is complete, the recipient views the data from their own account’s database. Access is not dependent on the sender's real-time system availability.
Internal Privacy: Procore Connect is configured to sync only "Official" project data. Internal comments, private markups, and draft items are not transmitted and remain only in the originating account.
Impact of Disconnection
If a project connection is deactivated, the following system behaviors apply:
Data Type | Behavior After Disconnection |
|---|---|
Historical Data | Information and attachments successfully synced prior to disconnection remain available in both Procore accounts. |
New Information | Any updates, new revisions, or new records created after the disconnection will not be transmitted. |
Deletions | Deleting a record in one account after a disconnection—or while connected—does not trigger a deletion in the other account. |
