Assign Projects to Assets
Background
Company level assets can be assigned to projects so they can be managed, tracked, and used within project workflows. Assets can be assigned individually from the grid or in bulk.
Assign a Project from the Grid
Navigate to the Assets tool at the Company level.
In the Asset Register, locate the asset you want to assign.
Click the Projects column cell for that asset.
Select a project from the dropdown list.
If the asset has never been assigned to a project, it can be assigned to the new project without any data loss.
If the asset was previously assigned to a different project; assigning it to a new project will carry forward all project level attachments and related items from the previous project.
A confirmation prompt will appear. Add an optional note and click Move to complete the project assignment.
The asset will immediately be available in the selected project.
Bulk Assign Project
At the Company level Asset Register, select multiple assets using the checkboxes.
Click on the Add to Project action bar that appears at the top.
Select the project from the project dropdown to which you want to assign the selected assets.
Add an optional note and click Assign to complete the bulk assignment.
Once assigned, the assets appear in the Project Level Asset Register and can be managed by project teams.
Note:
All asset assignments from company level actions are recorded in the asset’s Change History for audit purposes.
Bulk project assignment performed through the UI supports a maximum of 500 assets at a time. For assigning projects to a larger number of assets, use the Excel update option.
