Import Assets in the Project Assets Tool

You can import assets to create new records or to update existing ones. If importing from the project's Assets tool, assets are added to both the project and the company's Asset tool.
Records with the same Asset ID are updated.
Required fields vary by asset type and their associated fieldset.
If exporting your assets first, ensure that your column configuration displays all required fields. Importing the excel spreadsheet with missing required fields will cause your import to fail.
The following field types are currently not supported in Excel import and are excluded from the import templates: Project Directory User (Single Select), Project Directory User (Multi Select), Tool User (Single Select), and Company fields.
If any entries fail, you can download an error file listing all failed rows, with an Error Reason explaining the specific issue for each entry.
Multiple imports can run at the same time. When duplicates appear across files, the first version processed is accepted; others are flagged.
Navigate to the project's Assets tool.
If updating records, export records to excelwith all required fields shown in your column configuration.
Click Import and select Import From Excel.
Prepare the File.
Create New Asset Records
Select Create New.
Select whether you want to download a template by fieldset, or with the fields for a specific asset type.

Select By Fieldset
Select the Fieldset.
Asset Type
Select By Asset Type.
Select the Asset Type.
Follow the instructions in the template to prepare the 'Assets' tab in the excel file.
Save the file.
Update Existing Asset Records
Select Update Existing.
Update a the exported file with the new information.
Save the file.
Select the file.
Click Attach File and select the prepared assets file.
Drag and drop the prepared assets file from you computer to the upload box.
Click Import.
