Budget and Forecasting: Worksheet Columns (Beta) starts rolling out in Procore Explore on October 21, 2026, and will be available to all accounts by March 2027.
Budget and Forecasting: Worksheet Columns introduces enhanced flexibility and precise customization options to your Procore budget and forecast views. Designed to streamline complex financial data management, this feature enables administrators to build specialized custom columns, including Production Quantities Source, Select, and Direct Entry columns.
By unifying data across change events, prime contracts, and budget changes, teams gain dynamic, real-time visibility into quantities, unit-of-measure (UOM) formatting, and manual formula overrides without compromising financial integrity.
Key Benefits
Unified Quantity Tracking: Consolidate production quantities across original budgets, budget changes, change orders, and change events into a single, cohesive column with the option to display the unit of measure.
Flexible Data Input: Quickly populate data using custom drop-down selection options or direct manual entries (including bulk imports via Excel).
Dynamic Data Filtering: Tailor column visibility by Cost Type rules, ensuring non-applicable data remains hidden for cleaner views.
Inline UOM Formatting: Display numerical values alongside their specific units of measure directly in cells, eliminating the need for extra UOM lookup columns.
Manual Calculation Overrides: Provide flexibility over automatic calculations by toggling line-item manual lump-sum entries whenever specific adjustments are required.
Built-in Error Detection: Automatically flag mismatched units of measure (#SUM!) or row formula issues (#CALC!) to prevent inaccurate financial totals.

Features
Direct Entry Columns
A Direct Entrycolumn is a custom column type that allows users to manually enter or bulk-import values into cells within a budget view. Direct Entry columns support multiple formats, such as Currency, Number, Percent, and Quantity. See Create a Direct Entry Column and Update or Import Values in a Direct Entry Column.
Select Columns
A Select Column is a custom column type that allows company administrators to configure a drop-down list of predefined data options (or a manual entry override) for users to choose from in a budget view. Select columns support multiple formats, such as Currency, Number, Percent, and Quantity. See Create a Select Column.
Enable Lump Sum Manual Entries on Custom Budget Columns
Company Administrators can enable lump sum manual entry for Calculated and Select column types. This setting provides the flexibility to manually overwrite automatically calculated or selected values within custom budget columns in your budget views.
Show/ Hide Steps
Enable Manual Entry in Column Settings
Navigate to the Company level Admin tool.
Under 'Tool Settings', click Budget.
Select the Columns tab.
Click Create and select a column type from the drop-down menu:
Calculated Column
Select Column
Currency
Number
Percent
Quantity
Complete the General Information and Formula and Overrides or Select Options section as required for your column type.
In the Formula and Overrides or Select Options section, mark the Enable lump sum manual entry checkbox.
Click Create.
Override Values in Calculated or Select Budget Columns
Navigate to the Project level Budget tool and open your desired budget view.
Locate the column with manual entry overrides enabled.
Click the drop-down menu next to the cell value:
Automatic Calculation: Keeps the value computed by your defined formula or selected option. Automatic calculations show a lightning bolt icon.
Lump Sum Manual Entry: Allows you to type a custom value directly into the cell to override the calculated formula or selected option.
Click Lump Sum Manual Entry to manually enter a custom value into the cell.
Configure Data Display Rule for Custom Budget Columns
Company administrators can configure a data display rule for custom budget columns to filter data by specific cost types. This rule ensures values are dynamically shown or hidden based on your company's Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). You can apply this rule to Source, Calculated, Select, and Direct Entry column types.
Show/ Hide Steps
Navigate to the Company level Admin tool.
Under 'Tool Settings', click Budget.
Select the Columns tab.
Click Create and select a column type from the drop-down menu:
Calculated Column
Direct Entry Column
Currency
Number
Percent
Quantity
Select Column
Currency
Number
Percent
Quantity
Source Column
Complete the General Information and Data Source sections as required for your column type.
In the Data Display section, configure the cost type filter:
Only show values in this column for certain cost types. Mark this checkbox to dynamically show or hide values and options within this column based on cost types.
When cost type. Select Includes or Excludes from the drop-down menu.
value of. Select one or more cost types from the drop-down list.
Click Create.
Example
If you create a custom budget column such as the "Timesheet Hours" column, set the Data Display rule to Excludes the E - Equipment cost type. This rule prevents non-applicable equipment line items from displaying unit values within the custom budget column in the budget view.
Production Quantities Source Column
The Production Quantities source column consolidates production quantity data across multiple source types into a single column, streamlining budget views and adding inline unit-of-measure formatting options.
Show/ Hide Steps
Create a Production Quantities Source Column
Navigate to the Company level Admin tool.
Under 'Tool Settings', click Budget.
Select the Columns tab.
Click Create and select Source Column.
Complete the General Information section as required.
Under Data Source, configure the following:
Source. Define what source data and applicable filters populate this column.
Select a source. Click and select Production Quantities from the drop-down menu. Select and combine any combination of the following four sources:
Budgeted Production Qty. Mark this checkbox to include original budgeted production quantities.
Budget Change Production Quantities. Mark this checkbox to include production quantities associated with budget changes.
Status. Click the Select Values drop-down menu to select one or more statuses (Draft, Approved, Under Review, and Void).

How Production Quantities Source Columns Work in a Budget View
When a company admin assigns a Production Quantities source column to a budget view, users can track consolidated total quantities and perform detailed drill-downs:
View Cell Details: Click a hyperlinked numerical value within a cell in the source column to open a detail panel on the right side of the screen.
Source Categories: The detail panel breaks down the total value by its configured source categories, such as Prime Potential Change Order Production Quantities and Budget Change Production Quantities.
Itemized Drill-Down Table: An itemized table displays below each source section, showing granular data such as Created By, Created On, Date Installed, UOM, and Quantity toexplain how the final sum was derived.
Important
When line items within a group, subtotal, or formula attempt to aggregate values with mismatched or missing data, Procore flags the conflict to warn budget users:
Source Column Error (#SUM!): Occurs during summation when line items under a subtotal/total contain differing units of measure.
Tooltip Warning:"To display sum, all values must have the same unit of measure."
Calculated Column Error (#CALC!): Occurs when a formula references a cell containing a summation error, "No value", or a divide-by-zero error.
Tooltip Warning:"One or more cells referenced in the formula contains: A summation error, No value, Divide by zero"
Error Propagation: Group subtotals and Grand Totals that include an error cell will display as a dash (—).
