Request to Receive Data from an Inactive Tool

Background

Managing data exchange with external collaborators requires flexibility, as different tools serve different workflow needs. Rather than locking your entire account into one direction, you can now configure RFIs and Submittals independently. While each connection is one-way, you decide whether it sends or receives data.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions on the project's Connection Manager tool.

  • Additional Information:

    • Tools that have not yet been assigned a data flow direction are referred to as inactive tools.

    • At this time RFIs and Submittals can only have one connection, meaning it cannot both send and receive data.

Important!

This does NOT apply to the Drawings tool. Drawings can still only be connected by the Receiving account who initiates the project connection.

Prerequisites

Steps

  1. Navigate to the project's Connection Manager tool.

  2. Under 'Inactive' tools, click Request to Receive next to the desired tool.

  3. Review the connection details, then click Confirm.

Information on Connection Approvals
  • If the sending company chose to automatically approve connections, your projects connect instantly.

  • If the sending company's settings require manual review, Procore sends a request to the sending company for review.
