What file formats are supported?

The Procore BIM Plugin supports the following file types for the available actions:

  • Open

    • Supported Formats: 3dm, 3ds, asm, CATPart, CATProduct, cgr, cv7, dlv3, dri, dwf, dwfx, dwg, exp, fbx, g, ian, ifc, iges, igs, ipj, ipt, jt, man, model, neu, nwc, nwd, nwf, pdf, prj, prp, prt, prw, rvm, rvt, sab, sat, session, skp, sldasm, sldprt, step, stl, stp, wrl, wrz, x_b

    Append

    • Supported Formats: dwg, ifc, nwc, nwd, rvt

    Save

    • Supported Formats: nwf, nwd

    Export

    • From AutoCAD®: dwg, dwf, dwfx, pdf, nwc*

    • From Revit®: rvt, ifc, nwc* Note: To export to .nwc, the NWC Export Utility must be installed on your computer.

What happens if I want to save a project that contains a model from Procore Documents and my local computer?

Currently, Procore does not support saving a .nwf file if it contains a combination of models opened from both Procore Documents and your local machine.

To proceed, you must:

  1. Save all local files to the Procore Cloud.

  2. Reload the model entirely from Procore Documents.

How do I create a new version of a file when exporting?

To upload a new version of an existing file to Procore Documents, follow these steps during the export process:

  1. Match the Extension: Ensure you have selected the same file extension as the existing file.

  2. Match the Name: You can either:

    • Select the specific file you want to update from the list, or

    • Manually type the exact name of the existing file.

  3. Export: Click Export.

If I save an NWF locally, will it maintain the links to Procore Documents?

Yes, it will maintain all the links to Procore Documents.

What type of IFC is being exported?

IFC 4 - Design Transfer View.

How do I export different coordinates for my NWC out of Revit®?

In the settings, you can change the coordinates from 'Internal' to 'Shared' prior to exporting.

Support Lifecycle Policy

Procore aligns its support lifecycle with Autodesk’s active versioning to ensure the best possible experience. While its plugins may function on older versions (e.g., 2019), official support is categorized as follows:

  • Active Support (Versions 2022–2026) Procore offers comprehensive support for these versions, covering everything from plugin-specific inquiries to fixes for underlying Autodesk® dependencies.

  • Limited Support (Versions 2020–2021) Procore provides support for issues specific to the Procore BIM plugin, but cannot address stability issues caused by the Autodesk® platform itself.
