Export Revit® Files to the Documents Tool

You can export files from Autodesk® Revit® to Procore using the Procore BIM Plugin. This allows users to upload current model versions directly to the Documents tool without leaving the Revit® environment. You can also use this process to export files from AutoCAD®.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions:

    • 'Standard' or 'Admin' level permissions on the project's Documents tool.

  • Additional Information:

    • AutoCAD® exports .dwg files natively and does not export .rvt files.

    • File exports behave differently depending on the file type selected:

      • Native .dwg or .rvt: Exports the entire file.

      • .ifc or .nwc: Respects the active 3D view

Steps

  1. Open Revit® on your computer.

  2. Navigate to a 3D view in the project browser of Revit. Note: You must be in a 3D view to export a file.

  3. Click the Procore tab.

  4. Click Export Model.

  5. Select the relevant project folder.

  6. Select the type of file that you want to export. Note: If you export native DWG or RVT, the export will be the entire file. If you export IFC or NWC, the active 3D view will be respected.

  7. Enter a name for the file, or select an existing file if you want to upload a new version.revit-procore-export-file.png
