Glossary of Key Terms
Schedule Activity: The activity within the project schedule that drives the deadlines for submittal review and approval.
Start Date and Finish Date: The beginning and end dates of the schedule activity as defined in the Procore Scheduling tool.
Required On-Site Date: The date by which materials associated with the submittal should be available at the job site.
Lead Time: The duration required for material to become available on-site after the submittal’s final approval.
Final Due Date: The latest date a submittal can be approved while still ensuring materials arrive on-site on time.
Buffer Time: Additional time built into the review process to account for potential delays or revisions.
Submit By Date: The latest date by which the first step of the workflow (typically the Submitter) should be completed.
Open By Date: The latest date by which a submittal should be set to 'Open' status and the Submitter notified.
BIC Due Date / Workflow Step Due Date: The deadline for the current 'Ball-in-Court' person to respond to their specific workflow step.
