Duplicate a Company Level Action Plan Template

Background

Duplicating a template allows Company Admins to quickly create variations of standard operating procedures across different regions, divisions, or project types without rebuilding structure, sections, and items from scratch. This workflow accelerates administrative setup while maintaining consistency across organizational standards.

    • Naming Restrictions: Provide a unique title for the duplicate template before publishing, as Procore blocks publication if the title matches an existing published template.

    • Attachment Handling: Choose whether to copy existing file attachments into the duplicate or copy only the template structure.

Prerequisites

  • Access: Verify 'Admin' level permissions on the Company level Admin tool.

  • Preparation: Identify the existing company-level template to duplicate.

Steps

Duplicate from the template list

  1. Navigate to the Company level Admin tool.

  2. Scroll to 'Tool Settings' and click Action Plans.

  3. Locate the template to copy under the 'Templates' section.

  4. Click the Duplicate Icon Duplicate icon inline next to the template.

  5. Configure the following options in the 'Duplicate Template' window:

    • Copy Attachments: Mark the checkbox to include original file attachments, or clear the checkbox to copy the structure only.

    • Destination: Select Duplicate and Edit to open the new template immediately, or select Duplicate to remain on the template list.

  6. Click Duplicate.

Duplicate from inside a template

  1. Navigate to the Company level Admin tool.

  2. Scroll to 'Tool Settings' and click Action Plans.

  3. Click the name of the template to copy under the 'Templates' section.

  4. Click Duplicate.

  5. Select attachment and navigation preferences in the window.

  6. Click Duplicate.

Publish the duplicated template

  1. Open the newly created template.

  2. Make necessary updates to sections, items, or descriptions.

  3. Click the Template Title field and enter a unique title.

  4. Click Publish.
