Import Locations Using the Procore BIM Plugin with Revit®

Managing locations across a construction project can be a tedious, manual process prone to human error. By leveraging Autodesk® Revit® and the Procore BIM Plugin, you can bridge the gap between your architectural model and your project management platform.

Instead of manually recreating floor plans and room hierarchies, this integration allows you to sync your "Source of Truth"—the BIM model—directly into Procore. This ensures that field teams, architects, and all stakeholders are using identical terminology and location data, whether they are tracking a deficiency in the field or viewing a model in the office.

Things to Consider

Prerequisites

Steps

  1. Start Autodesk® Revit® on your Windows computer.

  2. Open the Revit® model containing the locations you intend to import.

  3. Click the Procore tab to launch the Procore BIM Plugin.

  4. Click Export Locations.

  5. Choose the destination Company and Project. If you lack the necessary permissions to add locations, an error message displays in the footer.

  6. Verify the levels and rooms summary shown in the plugin, then click Next.

  7. Click Publish and allow the process to finish (this may take several minutes). Note: If duplicate locations are detected, you can click Cancel to stop the import, or Yes, Continue to publish all unique locations.

  8. Choose these options:

    • If the sync fails, click Retry.

    • If it succeeds, click Done. Procore automatically opens the Locations page in your browser to display the newly imported data.

  9. Click the X in the Procore window in Revit® to exit the plugin.
