Reset Payee MFA as a Payee Admin

General Availability in Select Markets (United States)

Flag Us Procore Pay is available in the United States. It is designed for General Contractors and Owner-Builders who act as their own General Contractors on a job. Procore Pay extends the Invoice Management functionality in the Procore web application to handle the payment process between general and specialty contractors.

Background

For security purposes, only users with 'Payments Admin' permissions can trigger this reset to facilitate account access when a payee's authentication device is unavailable. This feature is designed to help users manage security credentials for external collaborators within the Procore platform.

Identify or Create a Payment Admin

  2. If you are the only payments admin or cannot reach one, navigate to the Team tab to add a new user.

    • Click Add User.

    • Complete the form.

    • When you are ready to invite the user, click Send Invite.

  3. When adding a new user, ensure they are granted "System Administrator" permissions.

Grant Payments Admin Access

Once the new user is added to the team, return to the Payment Processing tab to add that user as a payments admin.

  1. Navigate to the Payments tool.

  2. Click the Configure Settings icon.

  3. Click the Configure Settings icon.

  4. In the Payment Processing Tab, click Payments Permissions.

  5. Click Add Admins.

  6. Select the user and click Continue.

  7. Click Add Payments Admin to confirm.

Configure MFA for the New Admin

Log in as the new user, set up a password, and complete the MFA enrollment steps using either SMS or an authenticator application.

Warning

Be sure to save your recovery code in a location that is securely accessible from another device. If your MFA device is lost or damaged, you will need your recovery code to set up MFA on a new device. Each recovery code can be used only once. After a recovery code is used, you will have the option to save a new recovery code.

Perform the Reset

  1. While logged in as Payments Admin, navigate to Account Settings and select Multifactor Authentication.

  2. Click Reset MFA and enter the email address of the original user to complete the process.
Note: After the reset, the original user will be prompted to set up new MFA credentials upon their next login.
