Pin Coordination Issues

Procore Model Manager - Beta Access & Feedback

The Model Manager (Beta) features and documentation are subject to change without notice. (Note: At the launch of the Beta, only 'Admin' level permissions are available. Additional permissions will be phased in during the product lifecycle).

To access the beta and provide feedback Show/Hide Details

  • How to Access: Participating companies must sign the Procore Beta Agreement. Once signed, your Procore Administrator coordinates with your Procore point of contact to enable Model Manager (Beta) on specific Procore projects.

  • How to Provide Feedback During Beta: Contact your dedicated Beta program lead.

  • How to report critical issues: Report breaking changes to Procore Customer Support. For general feedback or non-critical issues, contact your Beta program lead or Procore point of contact.

Pin coordination issues directly to objects in the Next-Gen Viewer to create a visual link between a record and its exact location in the 3D space. This helps project teams quickly identify where a pipe clash or safety hazard is located, providing visual context that a list cannot offer. When creating a new pin, Procore automatically captures your camera angle as a saved viewpoint, ensuring fields teams easily see exactly what you did when you created the record.

Tip

What's the difference between a link & a pin in a model? A link ties a Procore record directly to a physical 3D model object (like a specific pipe or door). It does not require dropping a spatial pin. A pin ties a record to a specific spatial coordinate (X, Y, Z location) in the model by dropping a visual 3D pin.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions:

    • Permissions to create coordination issues.

    • Permissions to the project's chosen document repository:

      • Documents

      • Document Management

  • Additional Information:

    • Procore automatically saves your camera angle as a viewpoint when creating a new issue.

    • You can pin one record to multiple objects simultaneously using the 'Select Similar' feature.

    • You can pin a single object to records from multiple project tools (for example, linking one coordination issue and one inspection to the same pipe).

    • You can pin multiple records from the same project tool to a single object, but you cannot do it simultaneously. Each record must be pinned to the object in its own separate action.

Steps

Follow the appropriate steps below to either create and pin a new coordination issue or to pin an existing coordination issue to the 3D space.

Create and Pin a New Coordination Issue

Follow these steps to create and pin a new coordination issue in the federated project model:

  1. Navigate to the Model Manager (Beta) tool.

  2. Open the federated project model.

  3. In the left toolbar, click the Items icon.

  4. In the Items window, select Coordination Issues from the menu.

  5. Choose one (1) option:

    • If you have existing coordination issues, click the Plus (+) icon.

    • If this is the model's first coordination issue, click the Create button.

  6. Click a location in the 3D space to drop the pin.

  7. In the New Issue window:

    1. Enter information in the required fields marked with an asterisk.

    2. Enter any additional information in the required fields.

      Note

    Tip

Want to move a pin to a different location? Double-click it in the 3D space and then drag-and-drop it at the location you want.

Pin an Existing Coordination Issue
