Real-time synchronization ensures that field teams always work with the most current 3D models, viewpoints, and pins without manual updates. Backend integration instantly reflects changes made on the web platform directly within the mobile app. This seamless data flow reduces rework and improves coordination between office and jobsite personnel.

Additional Information:
Active Internet Connection: Maintain a cellular or Wi-Fi connection to perform real-time bidirectional synchronization.
Device Storage Limit: Prepare for local client-side caching, which caps local memory usage at 5GB on mobile devices.
Offline Access: Pre-cache models prior to entering areas without internet connectivity to view federated models offline.
An active Procore user account for accessing Procore web and the Procore Mobile app (iOS/Android).
Upload and approve model files in your project's chosen document repository:

Here's how syncing between web and mobile works:
When a tool 'Admin' performs coordination tasks on the web platform, the data is pushed directly to the unified BIM Platform:
Project Views: When a tool 'Admin' creates a new federated project model in the Procore web application, it automatically syncs and displays on the Model Manager (Beta) tool's mobile landing page.
Viewpoints & Folder Structures: Viewpoints created, organized, and shared on the web immediately appear for field personnel on mobile with folder and visibility settings intact.
Pins and Linked Items: Creating, moving, or updating the status of 3D pins syncs bidirectionally. For example, if a field team updates an issue's status from Open to Closed on their mobile device, the status and associated color highlight automatically sync back to the Next-Gen Viewer in the web application.
If a new model file version is uploaded to the Document Management or Documents tool, the Model Manager (Beta) automatically detects the new approved file and prompts a tool 'Admin' to update the federated model in the web application. Once the update completes on the web, mobile users will automatically load the latest federated project model version the next time they open it in the field.
To help field teams avoid downloading massive model files on-site repeatedly, the Next-Gen Viewer employs incremental background loading and client-side caching. Reopening a model loads files from local memory (which is capped at 5GB for mobile devices), and only downloads the incremental changes or new file versions from the web server.
Coming Soon While real-time syncing currently relies on cellular or Wi-Fi connectivity, offline functionality is an area of ongoing exploration for potential future updates.
