QBWC1012: Authentication failed due to the following error message. Index was outside the bounds of the array.

This error occurs when the QuickBooks® Web Connector connects successfully, but QuickBooks® denies access to the company file.

  • Incorrect Password: Verify the QBWC password has not changed. If you suspect this has been altered, contact ERP support with the password to verify we have the updated password configured in the ERP connector.

  • Blocked Permissions: You need full admin permissions in QuickBooks® Desktop to run the web connector.

  • Incorrect File Path: Open the correct QuickBooks company file, or contact ERP support if the file path changed.

  • New .qwc File: If these solutions fail, ERP support will evaluate the connection and issue a new .qwc file if necessary.

QBWC1012:

Application Requested to Abort.

This error occurs when the QuickBooks® Web Connector connects successfully, but QuickBooks® denies access to the company file.

  • Blocked Permissions: You need full admin permissions in QuickBooks® Desktop to run the web connector.

  • Incorrect Company File Open: If the wrong company file is open, the Web Connector cannot sync.

  • Hidden Dialog Box: Close the background popup window.

QBWC1013:

Application Requested to Abort. Error connecting to QuickBooks. Returning error message to application.

A QuickBooks company data file is already open and it is different from the one requested or there are
multiple company files open.

This error usually occurs for one of three reasons:

  • Wrong File Open: QuickBooks is open to a different company file on the Web Connector computer.

  • Multiple QuickBooks Versions: More than one version of QuickBooks is installed on the machine or server.

  • Invalid or Insecure Password: The Web Connector user password needs to be changed or updated to meet complexity requirements.

Depending on the cause of the error, try the following steps:

  • Switch Company Files: Open QuickBooks and switch to the company file synced with Procore. If you suspect the file path on record may not match, send a screenshot of the Data Folder settings to ERP Support.

  • Remove Extra QuickBooks Versions: Install and run the Web Connector on a machine that has only one version of QuickBooks installed.

  • Update the Password: Log in to QuickBooks as the Web Connector User and update the password to meet security requirements.

QBWC1013:

Application Requested to Abort. Error connecting to QuickBooks. Returning error message to application. Quickbooks can't
return sensitive information, if company file is not protected with a complex password.

This error usually occurs for one of three reasons:

  • Wrong File Open: QuickBooks is open to a different company file on the Web Connector computer.

  • Multiple QuickBooks Versions: More than one version of QuickBooks is installed on the machine or server.

  • Invalid or Insecure Password: The Web Connector user password needs to be changed or updated to meet complexity requirements.

Depending on the cause of the error, try the following steps:

QBWC1013:

Application Requested to Abort. Error connecting to QuickBooks. Returning error message to application. Could not
start QuickBooks.

The "Could Not Start QuickBooks" error typically occurs due to architecture mismatches, permission conflicts, or background process limitations.

  • Target Architecture: Build your application specifically for x86 (32-bit).

  • General Preferences: Open QuickBooks and ensure Keep QuickBooks running is unchecked.

  • Permission Levels: Run both QuickBooks and your application at the same privilege level (either both as normal user or both as administrator).

    • Note for Visual Studio: Because Visual Studio runs as administrator during debugging, you must also right-click and Run as Administrator for QuickBooks.

  • File Path: Verify that the file path and filename did not change.

  • User Context: Do not run QuickBooks or QBXML SDK applications as a background service; they must run under an active user account.

QBWC1020:

There are scheduled jobs. Web Connector will not be able to run these jobs if you exit.

Closing the QuickBooks® Web Connector mid-process can interrupt data syncing and cause partial updates or error logs.

QBWC1030:

Password is not available for application named 'Procore'. Please set password for this application.

The QuickBooks® Web Connector needs a stored password to authenticate with Procore during scheduled background updates.

  • Incorrect Password: Verify the QBWC password has not changed. If you suspect this has been altered, contact ERP support with the password to verify we have the updated password configured in the ERP connector.

  • Blocked Permissions: You need full admin permissions in QuickBooks® Desktop to run the web connector.

  • Incorrect File Path: Open the correct QuickBooks company file, or contact ERP support if the file path changed.

  • New .qwc File: If these solutions fail, ERP support will evaluate the connection and issue a new .qwc file if necessary.

QBWC1031:

Update completed with some error.
Application has been notified of the error accordingly.

This issue is primarily caused by a missing company name in QuickBooks®. When the company name field is left blank, the Web Connector cannot properly reference the file during a web connector sync.

In QuickBooks® Desktop:

  1. Click Company.

  2. Click My Company.

  3. Add your company information.

QBWC1035:

Dns.Resolve(localhost) failed due to Exception.

This error occurs when you install an outdated or incorrect .QWC file.

QBWC1039:

There was a problem adding the application. Check QWCLog.txt for details. Unique
OwnerID/FileID pair value required.

The QuickBooks® Web Connector app was removed incorrectly OR Issue with the QWC file (using non-hexadecimal characters when making the Owner ID or FileID unique) when doing a re-install.

QBWC1050:

An application is already loaded with the same FileID. No need to add an application that is already loaded to the Web Connector.

The QuickBooks® Web Connector is attempting to load a .qwc file containing a FileID that is already registered in the Web Connector.

QBWC1053:

A modal dialog box is showing in the QuickBooks user interface. Fix the problem and click OK to try again.

A modal dialog is opened in the QuickBooks® company file.

Open QuickBooks® on the computer showing the error, close the popup message, and try connecting again.

QBWC1058:

The application that you are trying to load from web connector configuration (.qwc) file,
matches the name of a application already
registered with the QBWebConnector.

Multiple QuickBooks® versions may be installed on the machine, or the company file path may need to be updated.

Confirm that all previous versions of QuickBooks® have been deleted from the machine.

QBWC1085:

There was a problem with the log file.
QuickBooks Web Connector will continue without the
log file.

This error occurs when the QWCLOG.TXT file used by the Web Connector program becomes damaged or it cannot be accessed.

QBWC1088:

Company file does not match.

The QuickBooks® company file location changed before removing the Web Connector application.

Move the company file (or a temporary copy) out of the directory, remove the application, then return the file to its new location (or delete the copy).

If the issue persists, contact ERP support.
