Budget and Forecasting: Worksheet Columns (Beta) starts rolling out in Procore Explore on October 21, 2026, and will be available to all accounts by March 2027.
A Select Column is a custom column type that allows company administrators to configure a drop-down list of predefined data options (or a manual entry override) for users to choose from in a budget or forecasting view. Select columns support multiple formats, such as Currency, Number, Percent, and Quantity.
When you assign a select column to a budget or forecasting view, the cells in that view will automatically display values based on the default option or cost type override rule. You can click the drop-down menu in the cell of the select column to override the source data with another option, or you can choose "Lump Sum Manual Entry" to manually enter a value.
Required User Permissions:
'Admin' level permissions on the Company level Admin tool.
'Standard' or 'Admin' level permissions on the Project level Budget tool.
Additional Information:
You can add up to 60 select columns to a single budget or forecasting view. See Assign Columns to a Budget or Forecast View.

Under 'Tool Settings', click Budget.
Select the Columns tab.

Default Column Name. Enter a name for the select column.
Note: You can assign a different display name when managing a budget or forecasting view.
Format. Select a data format for the select column's output from the drop-down list:
Currency. Displays values with standard monetary formatting and two decimal places. For example, $2,400,999.00.
Number. Displays values as whole numbers. For example, 2,400,000.
Percent. Displays values as percentages. For example, 240,000,000.00%.

No Value Option: Select columns can include a No Value option (added once per column). Selecting No Value displays as - - in the cell and impacts calculations as follows:
Vertical Aggregation (Totals/Subtotals): Procore skips "No Value" cells during vertical summation and does not count them toward totals.
Horizontal Formulas (Row Calculations): If a row formula references a "No Value" cell, the formula cannot calculate that row and outputs a #CALC error.
Error Propagation: Any #CALC error in a row propagates vertically, displaying a dash (—) for any column subtotal or grand total that incorporates it.
Make default option. Select the radio button next to an option to set it as the default selection across all budget rows.
(Optional) Override default option by cost type (optional). Specify cost types (e.g., Allowance, Contingency) to automatically override the default selection for matching line items.
Note: Available for options that are not set as the default option.
Select cost types. Click to select one or more cost types.
Note: You can add cost types in the Company level Admin tool. See Add Company Cost Types.
