Connected BIM ties records from Procore tools to the 3D model in the Next-Gen Viewer in Model Manager and in the viewers for the Document Management and Documents tools. Project teams open a record from the object or location it applies to, without switching tools. You connect project items from other tools in two ways: Links and Pins.

Links and Pins

A link ties a record to a 3D model object, such as a specific pipe or door. A link doesn't require a pin. A pin ties a record to a spatial coordinate (X, Y, Z) that you select in the model, and it appears as a 3D pin.

  • Link an item when it applies to an object, for example a submittal for a specific door.

  • Pin an item when it applies to a location, for example a pipe clash at a specific point.
