    • How to Access: Participating companies must sign the Procore Beta Agreement. Once signed, your Procore Administrator coordinates with your Procore point of contact to enable Model Manager (Beta) on specific Procore projects.

    • How to report critical issues: Report breaking changes to Procore Customer Support. For general feedback or non-critical issues, contact your Beta program lead or Procore point of contact.


Currently, only Admin permissions are available. 'Read-Only' and 'Standard' permission levels are coming soon.

Section planes let you cut through a model to view internal details or specific cross-sections of a project. This helps you better understand complex spatial relationships and inspect areas that are otherwise hidden from view.

    • Maximum Limit: You can add a maximum of six (6) planes per session. If you exceed this limit, a notification message informs you. In the future, section boxes will be available and should be used instead.

Steps

Follow these steps to enter Section Plane mode, place planes, and manipulate cuts within your 3D space:

Step 1: Enter Section Plane Mode

  1. Navigate to the Model Manager (Beta) tool.

  2. Open a model.

  3. Choose how to enter Section Plane mode:

    • Toolbar path: In the right toolbar, click This image shows the Section Tools icon in the right toolbar of the viewer in the Model Manager tool. Section Tools to reveal the flyout options. Currently, the only option is Section Plane.

    • Context menu: Right-click any object in the 3D space and choose Add Section Plane from the menu.

Step 2: Preview and Place the Plane

Once you enter the mode, your cursor changes to a sectioning mode icon.

  • Toolbar path: Move your cursor over model objects to see a dynamic hight and plane preview based on the surface face orientation.

  • Context menu: If you use the context menu, the system places the plane exactly where your cursor was located when you right-click the 3D space.

Step 3: Manipulate the Plane and View Cuts

Once a plane is placed, the perpendicular drag handles appear automatically.

  • Click and drag the handles to move the plane into position.

  • While dragging the plane, the lines for the profile cut outline all sliced objects to illustrate the cross-section. The thickness of the lines shrink once dragging stops.

  • The plane's drag handles remain visible at all times are are not occluded by geometry or panels. If you navigate away from your initial section view, simply click the handle to automatically recenter your camera back to the section.

Tip

Did you lose your section cuts after clicking a viewpoint or navigating away? When you switch viewpoints or navigate away from an active session, the Next-Gen Viewer is designed to automatically trigger a exit from your current adjustments. To restore your workspace state and recover your previous state and in-session changes, click Undo button (or press CTRL/CMD`+Z).

Step 4: Manage Individual Planes

While in active mode, you can modify specific planes using the following actions:

  1. Hover over a section plane handle and click More (⋮).

  2. Choose an option in the menu:

    • Flip Direction. Flip the plane's clipping direction to show the opposite side of the model.

    • Delete. Remove the selected plane from the current session.

Step 5: Commit or Discard Your Session Changes

You must explictly exit Section Plane mode to resume regular object integration. Your changes are managed as follows:

  • To commit session changes, click the This shows the Save and Exit button in the right toolbar in the viewer in the Model Manager tool Save and Exit or press ENTER.

  • To discard session changes, click the This image shows the Exit Mode icon in the Right Toolbar of the Viewer in the Model Manager tool. Close and Exit or press ESC.
