Procore Model Manager - Beta Access & Feedback

The Model Manager (Beta) tool is exclusively available to registered beta participants. It is not available through Procore Explore. To learn more, see Beta Participant Guide.

    • To register: Participating companies must sign the Procore Beta Agreement. Once signed, your Procore Administrator coordinates with your Procore point of contact to enable Model Manager (Beta) on specific Procore projects.

    • To Provide Feedback During Beta: Contact your dedicated Beta program lead.

    • To report issues: Report breaking changes to Procore Customer Support. For general feedback or non-critical issues, contact your Beta program lead or Procore point of contact.

For information about Beta Services, see the Procore Subscription Services Agreement. This documentation supports a product currently in Beta; content is actively being developed for General Availability (GA) and may be incomplete.

    • As-Is Basis: Provided solely for evaluation purposes on an "as is" basis.

    • No Warranties: Standard contractual commitments do not apply. This information carries no formal product commitments, and Procore assumes no liability for harm arising from its use.

    • Subject to Change: Procore may change, discontinue, or choose not to generally release these Beta Services at any time without notice.

Linking 3D model objects to items from supported Procore tools gives project teams instant access to critical inspections or submittals without having to switch tools or lose context. Links attach directly to 3D objects or components and allow anyone navigating your model to quickly review submittal details or check inspection records tied to the object. Once your items are created in one of the supported Procore tools, you can then link them to your model.

Tip

What's the difference between a link & a pin in a model? A link ties an item in a Procore tool directly to a physical 3D model object (like a specific pipe or door). It does not require dropping a spatial pin. A pin ties a record to a specific spatial coordinate (X, Y, Z location) in the model by dropping a visual 3D pin.

  • Additional Information:

    • You can link a single item to multiple model objects at the same time using the 'Select Similar' function. For example, you can link a single chair submittal to multiple seats in the model.

    • You can link multiple items from the same project tool to a single object, but not in one simultaneous action. Each record must be linked to the object in its own separate action. For example, you could link three separate inspections (i.e., electrical, mechanical, and fire/safety) to a single Air Handling Unit.

Prerequisites

  • Create the items you want to link in one of the supported Procore tools.

Steps

Follow these steps to add object links to items from supported Procore tools to your model.

  1. Navigate to the Model Manager (Beta) tool.

  2. Open a model.

  3. Select one or multiple objects in the 3D model:

    • To select one object, right-click it and choose Link to Existing Item from the menu. This image shows the Link to Existing Item menu option in the 3D model space of the Next-Gen Viewer in the Model Manager tool.

    • To select multiple objects, right-click one object and choose Select Similar to highlight all identical items in the model. Next, right-click again and then choose Link to Existing Item from the menu. This image shows the Select Similar context menu option in the Next-Gen Viewer of the Model Manager tool.

  4. In the Link Items window, select a supported Procore tool in the left pane. A list of corresponding records appear.

  5. Select the specific inspection record to attach. You can only select one (1) record at a time. This image shows the Link Items window that appears after selecting the Link Existing Items menu option in the Next-Gen Viewer of the Model Manager tool.

  6. Click Next.

  7. In the Details window, enter any optional notes about the model objects you selected as the item link. This image shows the Details window where users enter comments before linking a model object to a supported Procore item in the Next-Gen Viewer of the Model Manager tool.

  8. When finished, click Link.

Tip

Want to unlink an item? If you need to unlink an item at a later time, click Properties in the left toolbar and follow the steps in Unlink Connected BIM Items from a 3D Model.
