Things to Consider

Steps

Follow the appropriate steps below to either create a new pinned item or pin an existing item in a model.

Create a New Pin

Follow these steps to drop a new pin in a model:

  1. Navigate to the Model Manager (Beta) tool.

  2. View a model.

  3. Click Items to open its panel.

  4. Select one of the supported Procore tools to see items correlated to the model. In this example, we show how to pin a coordination issue, but you can create pins for other supported tools.
This shows the Items panel with Coordination Issues highlighted in the Next-Gen Viewer of the Model Manager tool.

  5. Enter Place Pin mode using one of these options:

    • If this is your first pin, you can click +Create. This only appears when no pins exist on the project model.

    • Click the Plus (+) icon at the top of the page.

    • If there are existing items in Procore, click the Pin icon on the item's card.
This image shows the Items panel with arrows pointing to the Plus (+) icon in the panel and a Pin icon on an existing card.

  6. (Optional) Click any location on the model to place a pin marker
This image shows a pin being placed in the Next-Gen Viewer of the Model Manager.

  7. In the panel that appears, complete the required fields. The form's fields depend on the type of pin you create. This shows the New Issue panel with a new pin in the Next-Gen Viewer of the Model Manager tool.

  8. Click Create. A banner appears at the bottom of the page after the pin is created.

  9. Hover over the new pin and click it to open it the Items panel.

Pin an Existing Item

Follow these steps to pin an existing item:

  1. Navigate to the Model Manager (Beta) tool.

  2. View a model.

  3. Click Items to open the Items panel.

  4. Select one of the supported Procore tools to see items correlated to the model.

  5. On the desired item card, click +Pin.

  6. Click a location in the model's 3D space to drop the pin. Procore links the existing item to a pin.
