The Properties panel allows you to inspect specific model objects to quickly understand their details. You can locate every object that shares a property and control exactly which objects return properties within a selection. Using this feature helps you isolate key data and streamline your overall model analysis.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions

  • Additional Information:

    • Adjust the Selection Resolution setting to control which objects return properties. See Set the Selection Resolution.

    • Enter keywords in the search field to find properties; the tool returns every item containing the keyword in its name, not only strict matches.

Prerequisites

Steps

Open the Properties Panel

  1. Navigate to the project's Model Manager tool.

  2. View a model.

  3. Choose how to open the Properties panel:

    1. Click Properties in the left toolbar.

    2. Right-click an object in the model, then choose View Properties from the context menu.

  4. Click an object in the model to list its properties in the panel.

    • Mark a checkbox in the Properties panel to enable a property and highlight every object that shares it. For example, enabling the "Roofs" category highlights all roofs.

    • Enter a keyword in the Search Properties field to narrow the list to matching items. For example, entering "roof" also returns items with "roof" in the name.

Tip

Need to fine-tune your selection focus? You can change the Selection Resolution setting to control the exact level of detail you interact with in the viewer. See Set the Selection Resolution.
