  • To learn about the beta program, see the Beta Participant Guide.

  • To access the beta and provide feedback Show/Hide Details

    • How to Access: Participating companies must sign the Procore Beta Agreement. Once signed, your Procore Administrator coordinates with your Procore point of contact to enable Model Manager (Beta) on specific Procore projects.

    • How to Provide Feedback During Beta: Contact your dedicated Beta program lead.

    • How to report critical issues: Report breaking changes to Procore Customer Support. For general feedback or non-critical issues, contact your Beta program lead or Procore point of contact.

Currently, only Admin permissions are available. Procore will add more permission levels later.

The toolbar next to the Navigation Sphere on the right side of the page Next-Gen Viewer helps to control the visual environment and your interactions with the model. While the left toolbar deals with object data, the right toolbar helps you manipulate the model.

In the Model Manager tool, the right toolbar in the Model Viewer helps to control the visual environment and your interactions with the model.

Description

Purpose & Key Functionality

Notes

Perspective/Orthographic

Spatial vs. Technical: Toggles between realistic depth (Perspective) for spatial awareness and flattened views (Orthographic) for precise alignment.

Snaps to nearest standard plane (Top, Side, etc).

See Switch Projection Modes in the Viewer

Render Modes

Layer Control: Toggles visibility for lines, terrain meshes, wireframes, and point clouds.

Useful for decluttering complex models.

See Adjust Object & Layer Visibility

X-Ray Mode

Internal Visibility: Increases transparency to see obscured components without hiding geometry.

Essential for MEP and internal structural checks.

See Adjust Object & Layer Visibility

Dimensions Flyout

Precision Analysis: Expands the measurement sub-menu (Laser, Coordinates, Point-to-Point).

Primary entry point for all dimensioning.

Laser

Multi-Directional: Automatically snaps between surfaces to provide instant X, Y, and Z measurements.

Best for surface-to-edge calculations.

See Calculate Surface-to-Edge Measurements with the Laser Tool

Coordinates

Spot Coordinates: Extracts precise XYZ data from any specific point in the model.

Used for verifying exact site locations.

See Get Precise Spot Coordinates (X, Y, Z) with the Coordinates Tool

Point to Point

Spatial Distance: Calculates the direct distance between two selected objects.

Used for clearance and spatial relationship checks.

See Verify Dimensions & Spatial Relationships with the Point to Point Tool

Sectioning Flyout

Internal Inspection: Accesses tools to slice or crop the model view.

Primary entry point for all sectioning.

Section Plane

2D Slicing: Creates a planar cut through the model to view cross-sections.

Non-destructive; geometry is not deleted.

See Add a Section Plane

Section Box

Spatial Isolation: Crops a specific 3D portion of the model within a bounding box.

Best for isolating specific rooms or MEP clusters.

Quit/Exit

Command Termination: Immediately closes active modes and reverts cursor to default selection.

Only appears when a mode is active.
